The Schedel Arboretum and Gardens in Elmore is featuring “Summer Garden

The painting by Athena Art Society member Carol Pletz, of Toledo is among 57 pieces in the “Summer Garden Reflections” exhibit on display at Schedel Arboretum and G ardens through Aug. 1.

Reflections” by The Athena Art Society” in the Trellis Gallery through Aug. 1. On that date, an artists’ reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m.

The exhibit features 57 works by 23 Athena artists. The works, in pastel, oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, colored pencil and mixed media, reflect the tranquil beauty of the flowers, trees and garden lake.

Participating artists include Betsy Ford, Lana Pendleton Hall, Marilyn Horner, Betty Jean Jacobson, Virginia Kretz, Darlene Krohn, Sue Ann Ladd, Ellen Loeffler-Kalinoski, Joan McKee, Ellie Miller, Dottie Nortz, Joan Palombi, Carol Connolly Pletz, Sharon Rapp, Arla Reitz, Inga Reynolds, Carrol Lee Rice, Linda Sattler, Sue Stewart, Jan Vezner, Lucy Jane Webster, Jane Williams and Claire Wilson.

Schedel Arboretum and Gardens are located at 19255 W. Portage River South Rd., just off the Ohio turnpike. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday noon to 4 p.m. Closed Monday. Visitors are invited to stop in at the new gift shop, which features works by local artists.
