Toledo Zoo’s Frozentoesen celebration proves there’s life in the season.
The fun begins with half-price admission throughout January and February, plus Cabin Fever Feeds, live entertainment and the fun of The Toledo Zoo, Frozentoesen is great opportunity to “dig the cool.”
Presented by Mercy Children’s Hospital, Frozentoesen’s Cabin Fever Feeds allow visitors a chance to watch remote video feeds of their favorite zoo animals at feeding time. Each weekend you can see a different animal chow down. There also will be ice-carving demonstrations each Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Live entertainment will feature anything from a puppet show or magic show to a performance by the Toledo School for the Arts’ Afro-Caribbean Dance and Drums group and Glass City Steel Band. Visit the zoo’s Web site, www.toledozoo.org, for a complete schedule of activities.
In addition to half-price admission in January and February, the zoo also will offer free admission to Lucas County residents from Saturday, Jan. 16 to Monday, Jan. 18. Lucas County residents are always admitted free of charge each Monday from 10 a.m. to noon. Identification showing proof of residency is required.
Visitors to Frozentoesen activities will get special coupons offering further discounts throughout the year. The zoo will offer a similar Lucas County Appreciation Weekend over President’s Day weekend in February.
