Meet Me at TMA is a monthly program hosted by the Toledo Museum of Art (TMA), in cooperation with the Alzheimer’s Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter.
The monthly program features interactive tours of the museum's collection of art, tailored to individuals who are experiencing forgetfulness, mild confusion or difficulty finding the right words, along with their family members and caregivers.
The program provides an expressive outlet and forum for dialogue through guided tours and discussion in the museum's galleries. Specially trained museum educators engage participants in dialogue, as art can be a rich and satisfying experience while providing stimulation to people with Alzheimer's disease.
Upcoming program dates include:
• “The Great Gallery: A Dramatic Vision,” Sept. 5, 1:30-2:30 p.m.;
• “The Cloister: Medieval Exploration,” Oct. 3, 1:30-2:30 p.m.;
• “The Classic Court: Egypt, Greece and Rome,” Nov. 7, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Registration is requested. To register or obtain more information about the program, call the Alzheimer’s Association at 1-800-272-3900.
