Every season at the Toledo Zoo offers something exciting, and winter is no exception.
This winter, the zoo is presenting Winter Weekends all through January and February. The celebration includes half-price admission (Lucas County residents get an extra discount) and special activities every weekend.
Each Winter Weekend offers cool activities in warm places, from magic and puppet shows to ice-carving demonstrations, live dance performances and hands-on science.
That’s on top of Cabin Fever Feeds, where visitors can watch their favorite zoo animals chow down – including vultures and orangutans to hornbills and giant spiders.
In addition to half-price admission in January and February, the Zoo will be offering free admission to Lucas County residents from Saturday, Jan. 19 through Monday, Jan. 21. Don’t miss special visits with everyone’s favorite monster, Elmo, on Jan. 19. Saturday also features Science Day in Nature’s Neighborhood, sponsored by BP Husky Refining LLC, with hands-on science fun and Imagination Station activities.
The Zoo will be offering a similar Lucas County Appreciation Weekend over President’s Day weekend in February.
