Area residents seeking to add some new life and color to their gardens and yards are invited to the Landscape and Turfgrass Crew Club’s annual Spring Plant Sale at Owens Community College on May 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. next to the new greenhouse, located near the entrance to the Math/Science Center.
The sale will feature a wide selection of shrubs and rare and unusual trees, among other items. A majority of the shrubs will cost $15, while tree varieties will cost between $15 and 35. Perennials will average $6.

Lark student’s cabbage nets $1,000 scholarship
Ohio Department of Agriculture Director Robert Boggs recently presented Mackinze Ten-Eyck, a student at Lark Elementary School in Northwood, with a $1,000 scholarship for growing a prize cabbage weighing 16 pounds.
