Owens Community College and three Clear Channel radio stations are partnering in a contest to award a free tuition  to four area residents, with two winners receiving the grand prize of two semesters of free Owens tuition.

92.5 KISS-FM, 104.7 WIOT and 103.7 CKY are currently airing promotional announcements for the contest. Individuals can enter by logging onto any of four Web sites –,, or, and clicking on “Tuition is Right” and correctly answering three questions.

Applicants also can enter by completing a paper entry form available at the Enrollment Services Office on the Owens Toledo-area campus or the Reception Desk at the Owens Learning Center at The Source in downtown Toledo.


Resources available for job seekers, employers
The Northcoast Jobs Connection Job Stores and the Seneca One Stop offer numerous services and resources for job seekers and employers.

Seminars are free and open to anyone in the community. The seminars are also available to be customized for employers and delivered on site.

Seminars being offered in August at the Ottawa County Community Resource Centre, 8043 W. SR 163, Oak Harbor include:

Aug. 6 – 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. “Network and Dress to Impress.” Learn how to use your communication skills to gather job leads

Aug. 13 – 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., “Get a Job or a Better Job.” Discuss applications, resumes, interviewing, networking, the Internet and more.

Aug. 20 – 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., “Get a Job or a Better Job, POD.” Discuss applications, resumes, interviewing, networking, the Internet and more.
