Connecting over coffee
As a means to meet informally with residents of the Benton-Carroll-Salem School District, Guy Parmigian, school superintendent, and Treasurer Tim Coffman decided to hold what they call Coffee Connections.

The gatherings give residents a chance to ask questions about the district and learn about the district’s operations.

Terra State Community College’s nominees, including an alumnus, a trustee and a business partner, were among those recognized at the 21st Annual Ohio Association of Community Colleges Excellence Awards in late May in Columbus.

Owens Community College’s Center for Emergency Preparedness is offering Northwest Ohio fire departments the opportunity to join a new regional fire service consortium beginning July 2014.

The intent of the training consortium is to provide valuable and mandatory Fire Service-based training at an economical price to member agencies. Membership is on a yearly basis and the total cost will be based on how many fire stations each department operates in their district.
