Author Teresa Kovalak visited Coy Elementary School to kick-off Right-to-Read coyWeek March 16-20. Kovalak is from the Ann Arbor area, and her book “The Uninvited Guest” is her first published. She shared with students how being dyslexic did not stop her from pursuing her dream of becoming a writer.
The Clay High School Faculty “Fun” Quiz Bowl League has completed another pic-quizbowlsuccessful seasons. The winning team for the 2008-09 year includes (from left) Kelly Paullin, Chris Klosterman, Scott Burns and Kathy Jeskey.

Cody Ormsby sizes up the slithery friend that accompanied Wood County Park stars-photoDistrict representative Debbie  Nofzinger on her recent visit to the STARS site at Lark Elementary School in Northwood. STARS is an enrichment program for students in K-5, offered through the Community Learning Centers of Wood County. It is offered before and after school, as well as throughout the summer. Special activities include health and safety awareness, computer programs such as Success Maker, cultural enrichment and literacy development.
