Carroll Elementary School is asking students, teachers, parents, aunts, uncles, grandmas and grandpas to share their favorite memories of the school, which is closing its doors at the end of the school year.
Planning is underway for a day to celebrate the Oak Harbor school’s history May 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. “A Building of Memories” is the theme of the tribute.
Committee members are asking graduates, teachers, family, board members and friends to send them letters sharing stories or historic pictures (copies will be made and originals returned) and mementos (maybe an old Valentine or story you wrote) of days gone by.
A video session has been set up for those that would like to share memories in this format. Taping is scheduled for Wednesday, April 4 and Thursday, April 5 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Carroll School. Committee members will have questions to get the conversation started. Appointments are required.
Call Linda Dick at Carroll School at 419-898-6215 to schedule a time for the video session, bring in memorabilia or letters or volunteer to serve on the committee. The deadline for submission of items is April 15.
