Jaime Filzer, Cardinal Stritch High School
With a 4.34 GPA, Jaime is ranked 3rd in the Cardinal Stritch Class of 2009. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Executive Board (treasurer) and the Quiz Bowl Team, as well as a Buckeye Girls State Delegate. Jaime is the assistant editor for the school newspaper and volunteers as a writing lab tutor, Homecoming and Prom committees, along with helping out as an open house tour guide. She also plays Volleyball and CYO Basketball.
The daughter of Tammy and Eric Filzer, Jaime plans on attending Bowling Green State University/Defiance College where she will major in education.
Leah Johnson, Lake High School
Leah holds a 3.88 GPA and is ranked 10th in Lake’s Class of 2009. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the French Club (Treasurer for 1 year). Leah is also involved in Stage Crew and Chorale.
The daughter of Jim and Joan Johnson, Leah plans on attending Bowling Green State University, majoring in Secondary Education.
Nicole Romstadt, Clay High School
Nicole holds a 4.350 GPA and is ranked 1st out of 307 students in the class of 2009. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Literacy Book Club and the Oregon Community and Family Coalition. Nicole is active in Volunteer Focus, Strive and the Quiz Bowl. She also runs Track.
The daughter of Paul and Lonna Romstadt, Nicole plans on majoring in Pharmacy.
Allison Bast, Oak Harbor High School
With a 4.100 GPA, Allison has been selected as the September Student of the Month. She is ranked 1st in the Class of 2008. Allison is a member of the Lutheran Youth Organization (Treasurer - Junior Year), Marching & Concert Band (Squad Leader for 2 years) and Choir. She also participates in Cheerleading, Track, Musicals (Lead - Sophomore year), Church Choir and has played piano for 12 years.
The daughter of Richard and Kathy Bast, Allison plans to major in Biomedical Engineering at either Ohio State University or the University of Toledo.
Thomas Duris, Waite High School
Thomas holds a 3.5 GPA and is ranked 9th in Waite High School’s Class of 2009. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Indian Leadership Team and the Red Cross Club. Thomas is also on the Golf Team.
The son of Tom and Erica Duris, Thomas plans to major in Business Management and play collegiate golf, but is undecided as to which
school he will attend.
Amy Richter, Gibsonburg High School
Amy has a 3.090 GPA and is ranked 33rd out of 102 students in the Class of 2009. She is a member of the FFA, Student Council, Sandusky Co. Jr. Fair Board and 4-H. Amy is Class Officer, Ohio FFA State Officer (in charge of 41 schools) and on the school newspaper staff. She also plays Basketball and is a part of the Bethlehem Lutheran LYO.
The daughter of Dave and Robin Richter, Amy plans on attending Bowling Green State University, majoring in Advertising Marketing Design.
Kerri Marie Shaffer, Woodmore High School
Kerri has a 4.039 GPA and is ranked 1st out of 86 students in the class of 2009. She is a member of the National Honor Society (Vice President), Key Club and the Drama Club. Kerri is also the President of the Marching and Concert Bands.
The daughter of Tim and Laurie Shaffer, Kerri plans to continue her education at the Ohio State University or the University of Akron, majoring in Political Science.
