Car wash fundraiser
Kateri Catholic Academy student Brandon Rodriguez, 13, will hold his second annual fundraiser for the Toledo Area Humane Society July 3 from noon to 4 p.m. at Ralphie's on Navarre Ave in Oregon.

Last year Brandon raised $300 for the animals at the Humane Society. “That was pretty good because it rained the entire time we were out there,” he said. “People were just driving up and handing my friends and I money and we didn't even wash their cars. I think they felt sorry for us and I'm sure we have a lot of animal lovers out there too.

“This year we also have a rain date scheduled too just in case,” he said. “That date is July 10 from noon to 4 p.m.

“It’s really cool to be able to help an organization like the Humane Society,” Brandon said. “I feel like I'm doing something good for the animals because they can't fend for themselves; they need people to help them.”
