Penta Career Center’s Adult & Continuing Education Division has established a new partnership with Boston Reed College in Napa, Calif. that will broaden its scope of short-term training programs for adults.

New adult training programs that will soon be offered at Penta through the partnership with Boston Reed College include Clinical Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician and Pharmacy Technician. Enrollment for thee courses is expected to begin in early February, with classes to begin in the spring.

“This is a win-win partnership for both of our institutions,” says Ron Matter, superintendent of Penta Career Center. “We believe this initiative will provide area adults with additional workforce training opportunities, which is critical to improving our region’s economy.”

Through this partnership, Boston Reed will provide online registration, curriculum, classroom materials, externships and possible financial assistance. Students who successfully complete a short-term training program and an externship experience will receive a certificate of completion. All classes will be held in the evenings at Penta Career Center’s main campus, located at 9301 Buck Rd. in Perrysburg.

Boston Reed College has relationships with a number of public education agencies throughout the United States. They have 200 partner campus locations in 24 states and have graduated 70,000 students since 1991. Each year about 6,000 students are enrolled and 89 percent graduate.
