Beginning in the fall of 2010, students who want to pursue a career as a physical therapy assistant will be able to do so at Terra Community College.

Thanks to an agreement signed Aug. 13, Terra is collaborating with Owens Community College, which already has a physical therapy assistant (PTA) program.

“We are so pleased to be working with Owens to bring this program to our area,” said Terra president, Dr. Marsha S. Bordner. “This innovative partnership is just another example of how both institutions are achieving the goals of the University System of Ohio.”

Students can complete their general education coursework this year and apply to start the program next year. In the fall of 2010, Owens will deliver lecture courses to Terra via distance measures and lab classes will also be held at Terra.

Terra will enroll 10 new students in the PTA program each year based on available clinical sites in the area and job demands.
