Aaron Martin, of Northwood, a 2009 graduate of Cardinal Stritch High School, emerged victorious in the first “Design A T-Shirt” contest sponsored by the Toledo Mud Hens.

Aarons’ design features Muddy hitting a baseball and the words, “Toledo Mud Hens, Let’s Play!”

More than 30 schools in Ohio and Michigan participated in the contest and over 4,000 votes were cast online for a high school design and a middle school/elementary design. The winning designs were announced at an on-field presentation at Fifth Third Field on Sunday, May 31.

“We are proud of Aaron.  He is a gifted young graduate and represents the values and mission of Cardinal Stritch High School well,” says Fr. David Reinhart, president, Kateri Catholic School System. “We encourage our students to use their God-given talents and Aaron has done just that."

Aaron received a $100 gift card to the Swamp Shop for his winning design. The Mud Hens will donate 20 percent of the 2009 sales of the T-shirts with Aaron’s design to Cardinal Stritch High School.

Mud Hen T-shirts with Aaron’s design are now available for purchase at the Mud Hen’s Swamp Shop and online through the Mud Hens Web site, www.mudhens.com.
