Lark student’s cabbage nets $1,000 scholarship
Ohio Department of Agriculture Director Robert Boggs recently presented Mackinze Ten-Eyck, a student at Lark Elementary School in Northwood, with a $1,000 scholarship for growing a prize cabbage weighing 16 pounds.
Bonnie Plant Farm of Union Springs, Ala., sponsors the annual contest, which allows third-grade students to experience agriculture first-hand. Mackinze won her classroom competition, and her name was then drawn from a group of classroom winners across the state.
