Kerrie Bercher, Cardinal Stritch High School
With a 4.20 GPA, Kerrie is ranked 6th in the Cardinal Stritch Class of 2009.  She is a member of the National Honor Society, Art Club, Recycling Club and the French Club.  Kerrie is on the Bird’s Word staff and is co-editor this year and was Homecoming Queen this year.  She has  been a Link Crew Member, a Kairos Leader and volunteers at the St. Charles Hospital day care.  Kerrie’s primary sport is Soccer (team captain) but she also participates in Track.

The daughter of Edward and Kathleen Bercher, Kerrie plans on attending Cleveland State University where she will major in Environmental Science.

Andrea MacVay, Clay High School
Andrea holds a 4.169 GPA and is ranked 4th out of 307 students in the class of 2009. She is a member of the National Honor Society, International Club and Band.  Andrea is also active in her church youth group and Quiz Bowl.  She also runs Cross Country.

The daughter of Brian and Tina MacVay, Andrea plans to attend college and major in History.

Katie Jones, Gibsonburg High School
Katie has a 3.759 GPA and is ranked 15th out of 102 stu-dents in the Class of 2009.  She is a member of the National Honor Society, the Key Club, the Spanish Club, S.A.D.D. and Student Council.  Katie is part of several singing groups such as Show Choir, Mixed Glee Chorus, Golden Harmony Chorus, Quartet, Theatre and Center Stage Jazz Choir.  She also plays Varsity Track and Field, Basketball and Volleyball.

The daughter of Eric and Traci Jones, Katie will attend Ohio Northern University and major in Business and Marketing.

Heather Cox, Lake High School
Heather  holds a 3.70 GPA and is ranked 13th out of 136 students in Lake’s Class of 2009.  She is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Science Club and Teen Institute.  She has played Basketball and Soccer for the last 4 years.

The daughter of Bruce and Dawn Cox, Heather plans to go to a 4-year college and is undecided on a major.

James Vassello, Oak Harbor High School
With a 4.05 GPA, James has been selected as the December Student of the Month. He is ranked8th out of 154 students in the Class of 2009.  James is a member of the National Honor Society, the Track Team and is the Vice President of LYO.  He is also the Senior Captain of the Football Team and made 2nd Team All SBC.

The son of Vince and May Vassello, James plans to attend Pennsylvania State University where he will major in either Bioengineering or Medicine.

Maribel Sandoval, Waite High School
Maribel holds a 3.93 GPA and is ranked 5th in Waite High School’s Class of 2009. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Hispanic Cultural Club (President), Math Honor Society, Future Association Club and the Youth to Youth Club.  Maribel is also involved with Adelante Inc. and Lourdes College Upwardbound.

The daughter of Leonardo and Maria Sandoval, Maribel plans to attend college to major in International Business.

Ryan Rospert, Woodmore High School
Ryan has a 3.602 GPA and is ranked 13th out of 80 students in the class of 2009.  He is a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club (Senior Rep.) and the Pep Club.  Ryan is also the Chairman of the Leadership Board and the President of the Class of 2009.  He is also a 3-Year Varsity Letterman in Golf.
   
The son of Rick and Joyce Rospert, Ryan plans to attend a 4-year college, then pursue medical school.
