Something really special
To the editor: Are you making your Christmas list and would like to give a child something really special this year that doesn't cost you a lot? I have the perfection suggestion. Both you and the child will get so much in return.
Do you love to read? Share it with a Coy Elementary School student by volunteering/tutoring him/her, one-on-one, during their half-hour hour recess time only once a week.
OregonReads@Coy can use your help. You don't need experience; just the sincere desire to work with a child. What a joy. With the current job problems, what does the future hold for these students who do have difficulty reading now? Please help them!
While most of the tutors return each year (I am 81 and in my seventh year of tutoring), more tutors are always needed. Some student is waiting for you. You don't need to live in Oregon.
Call Brenda Northrop, Coy's reading coordinator at 419-693-3575 or e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
She is well-versed in this program, can answer al your questions and is waiting to hear from you.
