Penta Career Center DECA officers elected
High school students who are enrolled in marketing education programs through Penta Career Center were recently elected officers in DECA, a national association of marketing students.
The students were installed as officers Oct. 21. DECA helps students develop skills and competence for marketing careers, build self-esteem, experience leadership activities, and practice community service. Penta Career Center operates eight marketing programs within its member school districts and at its main campus in Perrysburg Township. Among the students elected as officers for their respective DECA chapters were: Penta/Oak Harbor DECA: Melissa Florio, president; Ryan Grof, vice president; Ashley Mauder, secretary; and Kaitlyn Lemon, treasurer. Penta Career Center DECA: Russ Grim (Northwood), president; Lucas Richardson (Maumee), vice president; Ashley Marroquin (Genoa), secretary; and Chris Peters (Maumee), treasurer.
Terra students inducted
Thirty-two Terra Community College students were inducted into the Alpha Mu Epsilon chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, a national two-year college honorary, during a ceremony Nov. 9.
The honorees included Timothy Laderach, Laura Macko and Megan Rutherford, of Oak Harbor and Brian Barnett, of Helena. Phi Theta Kappa recognizes and encourages scholarship among associate degree students who are invited to membership on the basis of scholarly achievement, leadership, citizenship, character and faculty recommendation.
