Digital TV transition is coming. What should you do to be ready?

You’ve seen the ads on TV. Digital TV is coming.

But what does that mean to you? How can you guarantee you’ll still be able to watch your favorite shows.

Currently, many over-the-air stations are broadcasting in both analog and digital TV formats. After Feb. 17, 2009, full-power TV stations will broadcast only in digital.

I began writing what would eventually become my first novel, “Suffering Madness”, in 1995. My design goals at the time were fairly small - I was targeting the short story market in magazines to try to develop a name. After enough rejections to wallpaper my office, I realized my writing was pretty bad... in fact, reading it could be defined as a horror in itself for any magazine editor.

 
34th Annual Birmingham Festival hits Consaul Street Aug. 17

The 34th Annual Birmingham Ethnic Festival – a “Sunday in the Old Country,” will be held Aug 17 on the streets of the old Hungarian neighborhood in East Toledo.

The festival will be held from noon to 10 p.m. on Consaul Street in the middle of East Toledo’s Birmingham neighborhood.

Pre-festival events will include the 13th Annual Waiter’s Race Saturday, Aug 16 at 7 p.m. on Consaul Street. In the European tradition, teams of wait staff from neighborhood taverns and non-profit organizations will compete in a relay race.
