Local twirlers to perform in Macy’s Parade

Lake twirler Jayna Kubuske and fellow Perrysburg Twirling Sophisticates members Hannah Williamson, Lisa Giese, Alexis Abraham and Ashlee Banas have been selected to march with the USA Baton Twirling All Stars in the 82nd Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Nov. 27.

Baton twirlers were selected based on their twirling ability and past achievements. The opportunity was open to students from across the United States and from every national baton twirling organization. One hundred fifty twirlers were chosen.

From their step off, 3.5 million live spectators will cheer the group before the arrive at Macy’s Herald Square for their national performance for more than 50 million TV viewers watching the broadcast live on NBC.

 

The All Stars will perform routines choreographed by KeriAnn Lynch, former Syracuse Orange Girl.

In addition to marching in the Macy’s Parade, the majorettes will go sightseeing in New York City, see a Broadway show and enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at the Palisadium.

The parade will be broadcast at 9 a.m. Nov. 27 on NBC.
