Members of Girl Scout Troop #1221 of Oregon, have earned a Bronze Award, the highest award attainable earn as a Junior Girl Scout. As part of the requirement, the scouts had to complete a project that demonstrates leadership skills and commitment to the community. For their project, the girls chose to repair four Girl Scout Bridges used during Girl Scout Bridging Ceremonies.
They started by figuring out exactly what each bridge needed. They then requested donations from The Andersons and Wal-Mart, each of whom donated $50. With their donations, the girls were able to get all the supplies they needed to fix each bridge. They spent two days sanding, painting, adding steps, fixing lattice work, tightening railings and adding slip guards/ The Scouts who will receive the Award include: (front) Brittney Goralske, Amanda Morris. (Center) Alyson Jadlocki and Miranda Goucher. (Back) Katie Duncan, Kalie Wismer, Madison Moran, and Shawnee Canada.
