It promises to be a day of food and fun for a great cause.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Oregon will host a “Bowling for Boobs” fundraiser Sunday, Feb. 20 at Bay Center Recreation on Navarre Avenue, across from Kroger in Oregon.

More than 100 bowlers participated in last year’s event, which helped to raise over $1,500 for the American Cancer Society.

For a $10 donation, participants will receive two games of bowling and shoes. The event will also include a 50/50 raffle, games, music, prizes and concessions.

Team registration will be held from 1:15 to 6 p.m. Bowling will run from 2 to 8 p.m. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Oregon.

Held annually in communities throughout the globe, Relay For Life events offer an opportunity to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, to remember loved ones lost and to raise funds to fight back against the disease.

The 2011 Relay For Life of Oregon event will be held from Saturday, May 21 at 1p.m. through Sunday, May 22 at 7 p.m. at Clay High School.

In 2010, the Relay For Life of Oregon raised $36,000 for the American Cancer Society. This year’s goal is $45,000.
