The Cleveland Browns along with a matching grant from the National Football League have made a donation of $20,000 to the Lake Local School District for the reconstruction of its athletic football facilities destroyed by an EF-4 Tornado on June 5, 2010.

A check presentation ceremony will be conducted during halftime of the Lake High School Varsity Boys Basketball Game vs. Elmwood High School on Thursday, January 27, 2011.  The game will be played at the Student Health and Activities Center (SHAC) on the campus of Owens Community College.  Approximate starting time of varsity contest is 7:30 pm.

Making the presentation will be Matt Yunker, Community Relations Coordinator for the Cleveland Browns.  Yunker and the Cleveland Browns have shown their generosity towards Lake Local Schools by:

• Donating tickets to the entire Lake High School Football Team to attend a Cleveland Browns pre-season game.

• Bringing Lake High School Football Players onto the field for a pre-game National Anthem Ceremony.

• Allowing Lake High School Football Players to meet players of the Cleveland Browns during pre-game activities.

• Donations in equipment from players of the Cleveland Browns.

• Donation of $20,000 from the Cleveland Browns and National Football League.

In a press release, the Lake Local School District said it "wishes to thank the Cleveland Browns and the NFL for their overwhelming generosity shown towards the kids and school as we rebuild our facilities."
