Folks 60 and over are invited to reconnect with the Toledo Zoo at Senior Discovery Days, planned throughout September and October.
Senior Discovery Days will include free admission and special events each Tuesday. Each week will bring a new adventure at the zoo, from guided tours of the Works Progress Administration (WPA)-era buildings to live music to bingo.
There will also be free health screenings from MedCorp and flu shots provided by Kroger. (Flu shots are $25 and may be covered by insurance. In addition to Tuesday events, seniors will enjoy free parking in the AnthonyWayne Trail lot, free fresh-brewed coffee and a mini-muffin in the Zoo’s North Star Trading Post® each weekday.

The annual Senior Safari will be held Tuesday, Sept. 21, when the zoo and the Area Office on Aging will present the day of fun focused on seniors, including health screenings, exercise, safety tips and zoo exploration.
Lunch will be available in the Nairobi Pavilion. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling the Area Office on Aging at 419-382-0624.
Tours of WPA-era buildings, including the Museum of Science, Aviary, Aquarium and Reptile
House will begin at 11 a.m. and last between 30 and 60 minutes. To reserve a spot on a specific

In September and October, The Toledo Zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

showing proof of residency is required.
