The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District Two will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the realignment of Front Street to four lanes Friday Aug. 13 at 10:30 a.m. at Delta Fuels Drive, off Front Street, just east of the Veterans’ Glass City Skyway. The ribbon-cutting comes just days before the annual Birmingham Ethnic Festival - a celebration of this East Toledo community's ethnic heritage - set for Sunday, Aug. 15.

The reconstruction of Front and Summit streets is the final piece of construction related to the VGCS, which opened to traffic in 2007. Construction on this project continues in the area near Tribute Park and in North Toledo through November.
