For a week in May, AAA Northwest Ohio ran a membership special to raise support and awareness for juvenile diabetes, in celebration of Crystal Bowersox's "American Idol" success.

For every new membership or renewal that was purchased during that time period, $5 was donated to Diabetes Youth Services (DYS), an organization dedicated to teaching local children to manage their diabetes until a cure can be found.

Today, AAA will present the $2,610 raised from this promotion to DYS, which is based in Maumee.
