Downtown Toledo will once again join the American Idol excitement during the  season finale episode which airs live tonight from 8 to 10:07 p.m. on FOX.

The Huntington Center will host a viewing party open to the community, and the crowd of supporters may be featured in the nationwide broadcast season finale episode of American Idol as they gather to cheer on Elliston's own Crystal Bowersox.

In advance of the "American Idol" Finale Party, the City of Toledo and Lucas County will host a block party on Huron Street between Jefferson and Madison Avenues.

The block party will begin at 5 p.m. and last until 7 p.m.  Doors to the Huntington Center will open at 6:30 p.m.

Admission will be on a first-come, first-available basis. There will be no tickets to the free event.  The Huntington Center can accommodate 8,300 guests.
