The Lake Township Police Department will conduct a traffic enforcement blitz starting on St. Patrick’s Day March 17 and continuing through March 21.
Police Chief Mark Hummer said officers will be focusing on impaired drivers along state routes 795, 51, and 163 and I-280.
The department will use grant funding it received from the Governor’s Highway Safety Office to pay for overtime for officers.
Chief Hummer said grant funds will also be used for enforcement projects during the summer and holiday weekends.
