Friends of Pearson will meet Feb. 3 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the park's Macomber Lodge. Those interested in learning more or in helping the group in their mission to help direct the future of Oregon's Metropark are invited to attend.
Featured speakers will be Metroparks Superintendent Dave Zenk and Vince Messerley, president of the Ohio Wetlands Foundation.
Zenk, who oversees operations for the Metroparks system, including Pearson, talk about upcoming projects at the park, including a new trail at Pearson North, the 300-acre addition to the Oregon Metropark that was dedicated in August.
Messerley will discuss the Ohio Wetlands Foundation’s work at Pearson North, which is being restored by the foundation to its natural state as a swamp woods and open wetland.
Macomber Lodge is located on Navarre Avenue (SR 2), between Lallendorf and Wynn roads. (The lodge has a separate entrance and is not accessible from inside the park.)
