Children don’t come into the world with a “how-to” manual. Mothers and fathers of preschool children know how bewildering a young child’s needs can be.
That is why this February, The Children’s Resource Center, 1045 Klotz Rd., Bowling Green, is offering its Incredible Years parent training program for parents of children 1-3 years old.
The Incredible Years program was developed by experts at the University of Washington in Seattle. The 12-week course teaches parents how to increase children’s self-esteem, build their self-confidence and discipline effectively while strengthening the parent-child relationship.
The award-winning training will begin Feb. 1 at 5:30 p.m. at CRC and will continue weekly. Limited child care will be provided during the two-hour sessions. Light meals will be available for parents.
Those interested should register by Jan. 28 by calling Kristin Nagel or Cindy Eckel at the CRC 419-352-7588, or toll-free 1-888-466-KIDS. Grant funds from the Ohio Children’s Trust Fund and United Way of Greater Toledo partially support this service. Parents pay a fee for the course which is based on family size and income.
