Owens Community College students are reaching out to the victims of the earthquake that devastated Haiti by organizing a Disaster Relief Supply Drive Jan. 19-29.

Items being collected include bottled water, canned and other non-perishable food items, new blankets, manual can openers, diapers, wipes and baby care supplies, five-gallon buckets with lids, rubber gloves and masks, paper towels, toilet paper, flashlights, batteries, large trash bags and duct tape, among other supplies.

Collection points are located at the Student Health and Activities Center, College Hall Bookstore, College Hall Fireside Grill and the Audio/Visual Classroom Center. Items collected will be donated to ISOH/IMPACT in Waterville for distribution in Haiti.

Additionally, monetary donations are being accepted through Missions International of America, which is helping directly in the caring for those affected by the earthquake devastation. For more information or to make a donation, call 567-661-7583 or 1-800-GO-OWENS, ext. 7583.
