ODOT construction update through 10-14

ODOT has announced the following construction projects through Oct. 14:

Lucas/Wood County
Disalle Bridge Deck Overlay:
Bridge deck overlay on I-75 in both directions, from Wales Road to Erie Street, including the Disalle Bridge. Motorists can expect lane restrictions and closures of various ramps in this area. Delays are possible. Suggested alternate route: I-475.

Through November, I-75, from Wales Road to Erie Street (Exit 201A), is reduced to two lanes. The northbound lanes are separated by a concrete barrier. Motorists on northbound I-75 traveling to the South Avenue exit (Exit 200) must use the right lane upon entering traffic shift at Wales Road.

Additionally, the following ramps are closed through November 2009:
•Ramp from Wales Road to northbound I-75. Detour: southbound I-75; Buck Road; northbound I-75.

• Ramp from westbound Miami Street (SR 65) to northbound I-75. Detour: southbound I-75; Buck Road; northbound I-75.

• Ramp from eastbound Miami Street (SR 65) to northbound I-75. Detour: southbound I-75; Buck Road; northbound I-75.

• Ramp from northbound I-75 to Miami Street (SR 65) (Exit 199). Detour: northbound I-75; Collingwood Boulevard (Exit 201A); southbound I-75; Miami Street.

• Ramp from South Avenue to southbound I-75. Detour: northbound I-75; Collingwood Boulevard (Exit 201A); southbound I-75.
 Project complete date: October 2010.

Interstate 75: Travel Information Center Pavement Repair. Through November, the northbound I-75 Travel Information Center (rest area) will be closed for pavement and sidewalk repair. The rest area, ramps and all parking areas will be closed during this time.

Interstate 280: Trench Project. Front and Summit streets will be realigned to intersect with the Craig Bridge. Work includes filling the existing I-280 trench and reconnecting city streets in Toledo. The Craig Bridge is closed to traffic and pedestrians through December 2009.

Summit Street detour: Galena; Greenbelt Parkway; I-280. Front Street Detour: Navarre Avenue; I-280.

Through fall 2010, Ontario Street and Michigan Street, between Buckeye Street and Ash Street are closed for structure removal and roadway replacement.

Detour: Buckeye Street; Ash Street; Erie Street; Buffalo Street. Through December, Ash Street at North Summit Street will be closed for the reconstruction of Summit Street. Detour: Erie Street; Buckeye Street; North Summit Street. Project complete: November 2010. All work is weather permitting.

Interstate 280: Veterans’ Glass City Skyway Landscape Project. From 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily, crews will be landscaping along the ramps and the shoulders in both directions on I-280 between Navarre Avenue and Manhattan Boulevard. Project complete date: October 2009.

US Route 20: Major Widening. US 20 is being widened from two lanes to five from Bush Street in Woodville to Bradner Road. Lane widths in both directions are restricted to 11 feet throughout the construction zone. One lane will be maintained at all times. No permitted loads. Project complete date: November 2009.

SR 2: Turn Lane Installation. Reconstruction and widening of SR 2 for the installation of left turn lanes at the intersections of Teachout and Yondota Roads. Expect shoulder work on SR 2 from the Bono curve to Decant Road for pavement installation. Motorists may encounter short-term intermittent lane restrictions on SR 2 and on Yondota Road. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Lane widths in both directions are restricted to 11 feet throughout the construction zone. Through Friday, October 9, northbound Yondota Road to SR 2 will be closed. Wide load route: I-280; SR 51; SR 579. Project complete date: October 2009.

SR 795: Bridge Replacement. Construction of a new bridge and the addition of turn lanes over I-280 at SR 795. Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures on I-280 for bridge work throughout the project. Through November, the SR 795 bridge over I-280 is closed.

Detour from eastbound SR 795 to northbound I-280: southbound I-280; Exit 1B (Bahnsen Road); northbound I-280; SR 795 (Exit 2). Detour from westbound SR 795 to southbound I-280: northbound I-280; Walbridge Road (Exit 4); southbound I-280; SR 795 (Exit 2).

SR 105: Reconstruction and Resurfacing *UPDATE* Through November, SR 105, from Banks Road to Aufderstrasse Road, will be closed for reconstruction and resurfacing. Detour: SR 105; SR 199; US 6; US 23.

SR 199: Resurfacing. Through November, weekdays from 7 a.m. through 7:30 p.m., expect intermittent lane restrictions on SR 199 between US 6 and West Millgrove, for resurfacing. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Lane widths are restricted to 11 feet during construction.

Various locations: Lighting maintenance. Motorists may encounter shoulder work on I-280, I-75, and I-475 for lighting maintenance. Work will not impact traffic at this time. Future work will be announced. Project complete date: December 2009.

Various Routes: Signal Upgrades and Installation *NEW* Wood County. Weekdays through October from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., short term, intermittent lane and shoulder restrictions are possible at various intersections on SR 795 near Clark Street/Crossroads Parkway, I-75 northbound and southbound ramps, Lime City Road, Glenwood Road, Oregon Road, Tracy Road and Cummings Road. Traffic will be maintained by law enforcement and flaggers. Project complete date: November 2009.

ODNR Facilities: Pavement repair *UPDATE* Various counties. Through November, visitors at Magee Marsh in Ottawa County and Maumee Bay State Park in Lucas County may encounter intermittent weekday closures of various parking/campground areas for pavement repair. Through Oct. 16, visitors may encounter intermittent weekday closures of parking areas at Maumee State Forest in Fulton County and the Fort Meigs fishing access area off of Rapids Road in Perrysburg in Wood County. No work over the weekends throughout the project. Project complete: November 2009. All work is weather permitting.

Ottawa/Sandusky/Seneca County
US Route 6: Resurfacing *UPDATE*
Sandusky County – Resurfacing project on US 6 from the Wood County line to just west of Helena and from US 20 to CR 232. Through October, expect intermittent lane closures on US 6 from the Wood County line to just west of Helena. Through November, expect intermittent lane closures on US 6, from US 20 to CR 232. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.

SR 163: Oak Harbor Apple Festival, Ottawa County. Beginning Friday, Oct. 9 at 9 p.m. through Sunday, Oct. 11, SR 163 in the Village of Oak Harbor will be closed for the Apple Festival. Detour: SR 590; SR 2; SR 358.
