The Country Garden Club is bringing more than 24 exclusive vendors to Perrysburg for the 2009 Holiday Trunk Show.

The show will be held October 13-14 at the Carranor Hunt and Polo Club, 502 East Second St. in Perrysburg. Admission is $5 and the hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14. Luncheon is available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days.

In addition, Girls’ Night Out will be held Oct. 13, from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission is $10 and includes entry and hors d’oeuvres with a cash bar.

“This year we are featuring many wonderful vendors – we expect over 15 new vendors, many of whom we have tried to get for years,” said Gretchen Downs, chair of this year’s show.

New vendors for 2009 include:
• Balbianello, Inc. – Luxurious clothing made of pure cashmere, baby alpaca and silk.

• blue eyed susan – Fun shopping accessories, handbags, totes, stationery and gifts for all ages.

• Global Girls Gifts – Fun, funky and affordable. A unique collection of fashion accessories and gift items from around the world.

• Indo-Chic Imports – Silk jackets, shirts, tunics and pants in dupioni, shantaung, raw silk and silk velvet. Long skirts, fitted shells and dinner suits too.

• Just Girls – A unique contemporary collection of women’s and junior apparel, shoes and boots. Upscale designs for those who desire affordable luxury.

• Liza Byrd Boutique – Novelty clothing and tunics for women and kids, whimsical gifts and accessories, plus a clothing line for American Girl dolls.

• MIJA Jewelry – Fine children’s and women’s jewelry created from sterling silver, gemstones and 14K gold.

• Nina McLemore – Contemporary, timeless clothing for sophisticated women.

• Philip Sawyer Designs – Men’s and women’s clothing.

• PK Style – Wraps, shawls, scarves and jackets designed and made in silk taffeta, organza, velvet and cashmere.

• Rose & Harper – Distinctive precious and semi-precious greystone jewelry.

• Sissy Pie Originals –Unique children’s clothing designed to appeal to the consumer who seeks traditional quality, style and appearance.

• Tastefully Simple – Gourmet foods from tasty appetizers to desserts.

• The Brave Brown Bag – Where form and function meet to create a delightful tote. Bags are available in seven sizes and a multitude of fabrics. The motto ‘fortes fortuna juvat’ (fortune favors the brave) graces every bag.

This is the 23d year that the CGC has held its Trunk Show. Proceeds from the event have funded such projects as Way Public Library landscaping; W.W. Knight trails and the Nature Center Educational Lab; Hospice of NW Ohio; Perrysburg Heights Community Center landscaping; Veggi-U, an educational program with the Perrysburg elementary schools; the City of Perrysburg Gateways project; and the Perrysburg Area Arts Council sculpture garden.
