Approximately50 local School Safety Patrol captains will attend the 39th Annual Safety Patrol Leadership Camp sponsored by the Safety Council of Northwest Ohio and AAA Northwest Ohio Sept. 9-11 at Camp Storer in Jackson, Mich. The safety patrol captains will depart from the Safety Council of Northwest Ohio in Northwood on Wednesday morning at approximately 8:30am. Once arriving at Camp Storer, the patrollers will spend Wednesday and Thursday rotating through a six-session safety patrol training program. The workshops will cover leadership traits, school bus patrol and other safety-related topics. On Friday morning, the patrol captains will be given a test over proper safety patrol practices and responsibilities. Following the examination, the captains will be honored through a leadership camp graduation ceremony.
