Here's the latest news from The Press newsroom:
The Harbor View Yacht Club Sail Fleet will conduct a joint exercise with the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets from the Commodore Perry Division of the Greater Toledo Area Aug. 15.
Thirty-three Sea Cadets and their parents and leadership will set sail from the yacht club at noon for a two and a half hour trip to the Toledo Harbor Lighthouse and back.
The excursion is a result of the Sea Cadets needing a practical platform to practice the techniques of seamanship skills and the Harbor View Sail Fleet's need for youths to imitate their Junion Sail Fleet Program under the direction of Capt. randy Mullinix, the Sail Fleet Commodore.
Members of the U.S. Navy from Perrysburg and members of other naval units will also support the exercise.
