On Sunday, Aug. 16, Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge will host the “Dog Days of Summer,” a special day when dogs and dog lovers are invited and encouraged to enjoy the beautiful outdoors together.
The event will include guided naturalist walks starting at the Visitor Center at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tasty treats for both dogs and humans will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The walks are free and open to the public. Dogs must be on a standard six-foot leash at all times. For more information about these or other Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge events, visit www.fws.gov/midwest/ottawa.
The Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge entrance is located 15 miles east of Toledo or 16 miles west of Port Clinton on SR 2. The entrance road is located on the north side of SR 2.
