It's fair time in Lucas County! The annual Lucas County Fair runs July 28 through Aug. 2 at the county fairgrounds, located at 1406 Key St., Maumee. As always, this year's fair promises a fun time for the whole family, with food, rides, entertainment and much more.

Buckeye Horse Pullers Association of Ohio, Inc will host a Draft Horse Pulling event on Thursday at the fairgrounds.

Highlights of this  year's fair include:
Wednesday July 29
• Kid’s Day – 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kid’s Day Activities in Rec. Hall.
 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free admission.
• 5 p.m. to close –3rd Annual Lucas County Fair Car Show. Make-a-Wish to benefit from car show entries. Cash prizes for entries award throughout evening
• Senior Day - Free admission 65 and older 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• My Fair Lady Contest, Eddie Boggs, 4 p.m.
 Border Collie Show –1, 3 and 5 p.m.

Thursday July 30
• Veteran’s Day – Free Admission with proper identification, plus, free ham and bean soup lunch, noon-4pm
• Draft Horse Pulls – 6-8:30 p.m.
• Eddie Money in concert, Tickets $15 grounds/ $10 grandstand plus gate and parking. Opening Act is Midnight Special, classic `70s tribute band. Doors open 6 p.m.

Friday, July 31
• `60s,` 70s, and `80s rock favorites from Flashback at 7:30 p.m. Flashback features Ray Walter, Mark Lair, Mike Yeager and Dean Hill
• Mutt Strut, noon-5 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 1
• Demolition Derby  at 7 p.m. $10 pit passes available. $3 gate admission to see derby. 
• Lawnmower races at 4 p.m.
• Live music from Haywire at 8:30 p.m.

Sunday Aug. 2
• Cheerleading contests,  2 p.m., Ned Skeldon –BCSN.
• Wood Carving Auction, 3 p.m., Dennis Beach Designs.
• Rough Truck/ ATVContest, 4 p.m. Admission $3 per person

Grounds tent entertainment includes:
The Rocky Show featuring Rocky The Boxing Kangaroo –shows daily
Balloon Freak performed by John Cassidy – three shows daily- 3, 5 and 7 p.m.
Great Lakes Timber – daily at 2, 4 and 6 p.m. weekdays and 2, 4, 6 and 8 p.m. weekend.
Dennis Beach Chainsaw Carvings – Tuesday through Saturday 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. 9 p.m. Auction Sunday at 3 p.m.

In addtion, various groups will be performing on the entertainment tent/free stage throughout the week.

Hours:
• Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. (rides run noon to 5 p.m. and 6 to 11 p.m.)
• Friday and Saturday – 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. (rides run noon to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to midnight).
• Sunday – 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., (rides run noon to 5 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m.)

Daily gate entry passes, good for one gate entry per pass, are $6. (Does not include parking or mechanical ride wristband.) Children 5 and younger are admitted free of charge, but do not receive a ride wristband.

Mechanical ride wristbands are $7 per person per session. Mechanical rides sessions are from noon to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to close every day of the fair. (Wristbands purchased between noon and 5 p.m. are invalid for rides during the evening session.)

Concert tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Ticket price does not include admission to the fair, parking, or mechanical rides stamp.

Parking at the fair is $3.
