Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at The Toledo Zoo!

TOLEDO - Mexico’s annual observance of Cinco de Mayo has become quite a celebration all throughout North America, and The Toledo Zoo has become Cinco de Mayo headquarters for families in the region.
 
On Sunday, May 3, the zoo will present a full day of music, dance and crafts designed to bring the fun of the holiday north of the border. A complete schedule for this family-friendly day of fun is as follows:
 
11-11:30 a.m.: Ballet Folklorico Imagenes Mexicanas Dance Group.
 
11:30 a.m.-noon: DJ Tony Rios.
 
12-12:30 p.m.: El Corazon de Mexico Folklorico Dance Group.
 
12:30-1 p.m.: DJ Tony Rios.
 
1-1:30 p.m.: El Corazon de Mexico Folklorico Dance Group.
 
1:30-2 p.m.: DJ Tony Rios.
 
2-2:30 p.m.: Ballet Folklorico Imagenes Mexicanas Dance Group.
 
2:30-3:00 p.m.: DJ Tony Rios
 
In addition, visitors can make crafts such as piñatas, paper dolls in traditional folk costumes, and Ojos de Dios (Eyes of God) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the zoo’s Main Plaza.
 
The Toledo Zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located on the Anthony Wayne Trail (US 25), four miles south of downtown Toledo.
