Oregon-area teens looking for those proverbial 15 minutes of fame are invited to get some friends together and shoot a commercial for the Oregon Community and Family Coalition’s Public Service Announcement Contest.

Contest participation is restricted to youth who are currently in grades 9-12. Entry is restricted to a video team that consisting of one “executive producer,” who must attend school or reside in Oregon and a maximum of four additional credited contributors per video. The commercial can include any number of actors, however, only the five-person video team will be eligible for prizes.

The video must address the issues of substance abuse among youths. For example marijuana, underage drinking/binge drinking, prescription drugs, or substance abuse in general. The content should be clean and appropriate.

Mailed entries should be submitted on DVD. E-mailed entries should not exceed 5 MB and should be sent as either an .MOV (quick time), .AVI, or .WMV file. Videos should not exceed one minute in length.

Judges will consider visual/auditory impact, creativity and effective presentation of theme. The winning commercial will be professionally reproduced and edited to fit a 30-second commercial slot. The edited commercial will air 150 times on Buckeye CableSystem.
