Get your sweat on at the 2020 Zoomba series at the Toledo Zoo.
Move and groove to traditional Latin rhythms and animal-inspired tunes for an hour of energetic exercise to benefit the Zoo’s Raising Up Red Pandas campaign.
The quarterly workouts will be on Sunday mornings from 9-10 a.m. in the Malawi Event Center on March 15, June 7, Sept. 20 and Nov. 8. Sessions will be led by local certified Zumba® instructors and are open to guests ages 10 and up.
Fitness attire is required and water will be provided. No experience is necessary – all ability levels welcome.
Cost to participate in Zoomba is $15 per person per session for non-Zoo members and $10/ per person per session for Toledo Zoo members. A portion of all proceeds will benefit the Zoo’s Raising Up Red Pandas campaign to build a new on-ground breeding facility for the cute redheads.
Complimentary parking will be available in the Anthony Wayne Trail parking lot. Event is rain, snow or shine. Zoo admission is included with Zoomba ticket and participants are encouraged to stay and enjoy the Zoo after exercising.
To participate, please register online, in advance at toledozoo.org/zoomba. If space permits, day of registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and accept cash or credit.
        Teddy Bear Care Clinic
The Zoo invites visitors to bring their favorite stuffed pal to Teddy Bear Care Fair supported by The University of Toledo College of Nursing and ProMedica on Saturday, March 21.
Zoo volunteers will provide check-ups and cosmetic repairs in the workshop at Nature’s Neighborhood from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. This bear-y fun event is included with Zoo admission.
Teddy Bear Care Fair showcases the many ways that people can care for animals, from stuffed buddies and pets to favorite Zoo residents. This year, the focus is on the health, care and activities of Zoo resident bear species.
In addition to the plush fun, visitors can also pose questions to animal keepers and veterinary staff during scheduled talks, experience animal feeds and demonstrations, enjoy puppet shows, interact with divers in the Aquarium, participate in hands-on activities and much more. Get the full schedule of activities at toledozoo.org/teddybear.
