Toledo Refining Company honored the nurses and health care workers of Mercy Health - St. Charles Hospital July 23 by bringing an ice cream truck on campus to serve up icy delights for hospital team members.
An additional treat was served at St. Charles by way of a surprise check presentation to the Mercy Health - St. Charles nurses’ continuing education fund. This donation will help local nurses continue to pursue advanced educational opportunities.
“The health care industry has been and continues to be the center of our community through their support of COVID-19 care, vaccinations and testing,” said Chris Shultz, Toledo Refining community relations director. “This is our small way of saying thank you to Mercy Health for your service to the community – it’s our day to serve you!”
Mercy Health and Toledo Refining Company have partnered on several initiatives in the past that have benefited the Oregon community. Namely, the two organizations have partnered to enhance Navarre Park with a new shelter coming soon and the Imagination Library, providing free books to preschool children.
