Susan L. Hassenzahl /(Ocheske)

Susan L. Hassenzahl (Ocheske), 76 of Oak Harbor, died June 15, 2022 at St. Vincent’s after a short illness. She was born May 31, 1946, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Susan was a graduate of Parma High School and Valparaiso University.

She was the Public Relations Director for The Arc of Northeastern Ohio where she organized the annual Mini-Opera at Lincoln Center for the special students of Northeastern Ohio.

Susan was a Sales Representative for the Standard Register Company and Regional Director for Technical Translations, covering 26 languages. She was also a member of Mensa, the Cleveland Advertising Club, and Women in Business of Northeast Ohio.

Susan is survived by her beloved Larry, daughter; Dr. Lisa (Rev. Schuyler) Rhodes, son; Park Roote, grandchildren; Emma (Calvin) and Aaron (Molly) Rhodes, sister; Karen (Charles) Bauernschmidt, nieces; Kate and Kelly Bauernschmidt, special friends; Daniel and Ronda Lauharn, and Lisa Rivera and many loving relations, friends, and pets. She was preceded in death by her daughter; Susan Jeannette Roote (a special child), her parents; Susan H. (Boehm) and Albert Hassenzahl and special relatives; Aunt Marge and Uncle John Weidermann.
