Sandy L. Yackee

Sandy L. Yackee 66, of Martin, Ohio passed away, Thursday, July 4, 2024, with her beloved Lee at her Side.
Sandy was born in Oregon, Ohio on August 19, 1957, The daughter of Elwood and Margaret (Lau). Sandy lived in Curtice, Ohio and graduated from Genoa High School in 1975. She went on to earn her associate degree from Davis Business College. Sandy started her work career at Walton Book Store in Northwood, Ohio later working in the office at Prestolite Corp, of Toledo, Ohio, in 1987 she became the office manager for Yackee Electric Service and was known for her warm smile and welcoming voice “Yackee’s This is Sandy” Everyone knew they were in good hands when she answered the phone.
Sandy and Lee became close and became a team, at work and at home. They got engaged at the top of Whistler Mountain on a snow skiing trip, they were planning for their wedding until her automobile accident changed all that. Lee was bound and determined to give Sandy the absolute best care and to go to any lengths to find a way to get her better. He took care of her day and night at home and when Lee needed to be out of the house, relatives, friends and neighbors helped him. Sandy was not only cared for but cared for in the most wonderful way, by those who loved her.
When Sandy was young, she planted a large garden, growing vegetables and flowers, which she continued throughout her adult life, Sandy always had a soft spot for animals, especially her cats, Sandy loved to snow ski and be out on the lake with friends.
Lee and family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of Sandy’s caregivers, Audrey Yackee, Donna S for over 20 years of dedication, Angel, Johnny, Laurie, Zack, Becca, Rachelle, Danny, Sandy Ward, “Mac”, Julie, Sharon, Tina and Sandy’s nurse and dear family friend Sue Hineline R.N.
Sandy is Survived by her true love, Lee Yackee, brothers Blane L. Lau and Terrance F. (Sue) Lau and her nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elwood and Margaret Lau.
Sandy was laid to rest at Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa, in a private sunset service, with her family and friends present. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Genoa, Ohio are assisting with arrangements.
