Salem-Oak Harbor Class of 1960 holds reunion
The Salem-Oak Harbor High School Class of 1960 held its 60th class reunion Sept. 26 at the Historic Hotel Lakeside.
Members who attended included Bob Zimmerman, of Oak Harbor; Ron Jess, of Port Clinton; Louise Fought, former shorthand/typing teacher, of Toledo; Linda Risch Dehring, of Oak Harbor; Karen Velliquette Layman and Gary Layman, of Oak Harbor; Sharon Winters Bruggeman, of Lebanon; Gary Noble, of Oak Harbor; Carolyn Tettau, Sterling, of Virginia; Sherry Beekman Freeman, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; Elaine Shoup Moore, of Bedford, Indiana; Sharon Felder Farrow, of Oak Harbor; Jesse Riley, of Toledo; Marilyn Mylander Sandwisch, of Oak Harbor and Karen Greunke Schanke, of Graytown.
Acknowledgements were received from Terry Clark, of Grosse Point, Michigan; Mary Steindam Stapleton, of Oregon; Rev. Tim and Bev Martin Nehls, of Palm Harbor, Florida; Kathy Fritsche Fritchie, of Ostrander, Ohio and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Ward, of Sylvania, the class’ commencement speaker.
Reunion Committee members included Karen Schanke and Marilyn Sandwisch. Plans are underway to meet again next year.
