Rick R. Haddix

Rick R. Haddix, 69, of Fostoria, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital.

He was born on February 9, 1952 in Bowling Green, Ohio to the late Frank and Joyce (Bowers) Haddix. He married Patsy A. Grimm on August 13, 1980 in Oakland, Maryland and she survives in Fostoria.

Also surviving are two children, son, Heath J. Haddix of Columbus; and a daughter, Kim Haddix of Genoa; a grand-dog, Liberty; sister-in-law, Dianne (Tom) Touchberry; their children, Erin (John) Belanger and Randi (Fred) Alexander all of Wixom, Michigan.

Rick was a 1970 graduate of Genoa High School and a 1974 graduate of The Ohio State University where he received a Bachelor’s of Science in History. He was the president of Findlay Officials Association and a member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association Officials Hall of Fame. Rick enjoyed officiating basketball, football, track and field and cross country. He was also on the executive board of the Ohio Track and Field and Cross Country Officials Association. Rick worked at the State Track and Field Championships for several years. Officiating was one of the highlights of his life and he enjoyed his track family.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline Street, Fostoria, Ohio 44830. The funeral service is 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the funeral home with Curt Barlekamp, presiding. Private family burial will take place at Clay Township Cemetery in Genoa.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Seneca County Humane Society where we found our beloved Tess or to Ohio Track and Field and Cross Country Officials Association Scholarship in care of the funeral home.
