Raymond Norman Obermyer
Raymond N. Obermyer, 82 of Genoa, passed away, Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Otterbein in Perrysburg. He was born on February 25, 1939 in Genoa, Ohio to Frederick H. and Helen C. (Landwehr) Obermyer. On June 24, 1961 he married Judith Geisler in Woodville, OH. Raymond and Judy raised one daughter and celebrated over 58 years of marriage together before Judy’s passing in March of 2020.
In addition to being a lifelong farmer, Raymond worked as an Operating Engineer for 30 plus years before he retired. He enjoyed going to and participating in cattle shows. A favorite pastime was attending antique auctions and traveling to Amish Country with his wife Judy. Of all his joys in life, Raymond enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Raymond is survived by his daughter: Linda (Mark) Runyan, grandchildren: Myer and Emmy Runyan all of Urbana, OH. Also left to cherish his memory are numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Judy, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
In keeping with Raymond’s wishes, his body was donated to Ohio State University. The family will host a memorial service at a later date to be announced. Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, Luckey, OH is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to: The Shriners or a charity of the donor’s choice. Condolences may be shared with the family at
