Philip James Block

Philip James Block, age 80, passed on April 15, 2021 in Fort Worth, TX. Native to Toledo, OH he graduated from Woodward High School, 1958. Afterward, he served in the U.S. Air Force. He was in the commercial printing industry for most of his adult life. Before moving to Texas, he managed his own company for nearly 30 years. He loved life and never knew a stranger. He traveled and loved boating, fishing and hunting. A faithful Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Phil loved to teach children's religious education. After retirement he enjoyed his family and many grandchildren. He always wore a cowboy hat and loved to make you smile with his infectious laugh and quick wit.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole, whom he adored; and his parents, Melvin and Regina; and brother, Gary. A loving Father, he is survived by his children, Cathie (Gary) and Michael, whom he shared with his former spouse Eunice; Lisa, Jill (Jim), Tim, Brooke (Jeff), Erin (Scott); 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Siblings, Patricia, Daniel (Linda), Ilene (Wayne), and Cathie (Charles), and lastly his loved and adored cat Rosie and her friend Bob. He was a phenomenal human being and will truly be missed by us all.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Ignatius Church, 212 Stadium Rd., Oregon, OH 43616 on May 8 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow mass at St. Ignatius Cemetery and a modest celebration of his life will follow at Maumee Bay Lodge.
