VFW recognizes Elmore veteran in #StillServing campaign

Elmore resident Anthony Unum has earned recognition in the national Veterans of Foreign Wars #StillServing campaign. The campaign honors veterans who continue to serve in their community after active duty.
Unum has served in four major military operations since 1993 and is #StillServing as a member of the Ohio National Guard. He has been state-activated to assist with natural disasters within Ohio as well as to deploy for multiple overseas assignments, recently returning from Qatar.
As a guard member, he has been able to serve local communities in the country with reading programs, beautification efforts, clothing drives and other cultural exchanges. A service craftsman, the kitchen/culinary arts are part of his job.
It’s Unum’s dedicated service to the military, his local community and those overseas that led VFW to choose him to be among its #StillServing heroes nationwide.
VFW invites veterans to submit their stories at vfw.org/stillserving.
