Cashen reappointed to Veterans Service Commission
On Jan. 9, Ottawa County Common Pleas Court Judge Bruce Winters swore in Thomas Cashen III, appointing him to represent the American Legion as a commissioner on the Ottawa County Veterans Service Commission.
Cashen was initially appointed to a one-year term. This will be his second full term.
He is a Persian Gulf War veteran who served in the U.S. Navy. As a strong advocate of veterans throughout his six-year tenure, he has been a voice for the 3,600 veterans and their dependents in Ottawa County and was actively involved in the celebration of county veterans’ accomplishments and in the commemoration of their sacrifices.
