Grand jury issues indictments

The Ottawa County Grand Jury has indicted 13 persons during a recent session.
-Isaac King, Kansas, OH, has been indicted on two counts of aggravated arson and one count of breaking and entering after he allegedly caused a fire in a Carroll Township residence in July. The home was not occupied at the time but has been declared a complete loss.
-Cadyn Gordon, Oak Harbor, has been indicted on one count each of assault, abduction, and strangulation after reportedly holding someone against their will in his home in August.
-James Taylor, Oak Harbor, was charged with one count of domestic violence, following an alleged altercation with a household member on Aug. 11. The charge is a felony of the fourth degree due to Taylor’s previous domestic violence conviction.
-Rebecca Dress, Port Clinton, was indicted on multiple counts of theft and forgery after she allegedly forged stolen checks and allegedly stole jewelry belong to an elderly victim earlier this year.
-Joel Terry, IV, who is currently being held in the Ottawa County Detention Facility, was indicted on two counts of burglary after he reportedly entered a Port Clinton residence on Aug. 19.
-Terence Chapman, Phoenix, Az., was charged with felony counts of drug possession and drug trafficking and a misdemeanor count of child endangering after he was allegedly found to be in possession of Oxycodone and cocaine during a traffic stop in February.
-Thomas Johnson, Oak Harbor, was indicted on 38 counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor. He is accused of downloading pornographic images of minors on multiple occasions since February 2023.
-Steven Betz and Jason Rieger, both of Toledo, and Patricia Weinert, Oregon, were each charged with one count of theft after the three allegedly stole two jet skis from a Port Clinton residence in August.
-Macoy Velliquette, who is currently being held in the Ottawa County Detention Facility, was indicted on several felony counts of assault on a police officer along with charges of domestic violence, obstructing official business, and harassment with bodily substances. According to reports of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call for assistance when Velliquette was allegedly involved in an altercation with a family member. He then resisted arrest.
-Richard Seele, Marblehead, has been charged with three counts of trafficking of a Fentanyl-related compound after allegedly selling the drugs last year. The charges include specifications that the crimes took place in the vicinity of a school.
-Dylan Chaney, Anderson, Indiana, has been indicted on one count of felonious assault after he allegedly punched someone in the face last month, causing serious injury.
